Shinya Kotani is Director in Societe Generale’s Energy Finance & Advisory team in Tokyo. An energy and infrastructure finance practitioner, he has supported Japan’s energy transition from a financing perspective since the early days of the FIT scheme. With over 15 years of experience in Tokyo and London, he has advised on and arranged financing for a wide range of energy infrastructure projects, including renewable energy, transmission and distribution, and BESS. He possesses deep expertise in both the Japanese energy market and global infrastructure, and has been actively involved in offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, and BESS projects across Hokkaido.
