Shuhei Abe

Born in Sapporo in 1954. Graduated from Sophia University with a B.A. in Economics in 1978. Obtained an MBA from Babson College. He began his career as an analyst for Nomura Research Institute (Japan) and transferred to Nomura Securities in 1982. After working in Japanese equity institutional sales at Nomura Securities International (New York), he formed Abe Capital Research Inc. in 1985, where he provided investment management and advisory services on Japanese equity to Quantum fund, and US and European investors. In 1989, he returned to Tokyo, Japan to start SPARX Group Co., Ltd. He completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program (AMP) in 2005. He has been an appointed member of Risk Advisory Committee managed under Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) since June 2012.
