Tetsuya Nomoto supports business development and policy initiatives in the fields of energy transition and carbon neutrality, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia.
From April 2023 to March 2024, he was seconded to the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), where he contributed to regional initiatives on carbon pricing and carbon markets, including work related to Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). During this period, he was involved in promoting carbon neutrality awareness and supporting the development of regional strategies.
In April 2024, he assumed the position of Head of Research, Energy and Circular Economy at Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. (MRI), where he leads research activities and develops policy recommendations. Since October 2025, he has also overseen a cross-sectoral research division addressing six key societal challenges - healthcare, human capital, energy and circular economy, information and communications, food and agriculture, and resilience - advancing integrated approaches to complex issues.
